San Laksa Steamboat ~ Unique Singapore experience~

If you are someone who orders Yong Tau Fu with Laksa broth, or just simple love Laksa, then this restaurant is just for you!

Situated at Telok Blangah Rd, this restaurant attracts many tourists and enthusiasts whom are looking for a place to indulge in good old fashion Singaporean delights. San Laksa Steamboat Seafood Restaurant has one of the greatest steamboat soup bases in Singapore.

From what we have observed so far while waiting for our turn to be seated, lots of tourists alighted from tour buses and many patrons comes from the neighbouring hotel (Fragrance Hotel), filled the restaurant.

They had recently did a revamp of the restaurant. The furnishing of the interior is kept white with inspirational messages and art pop frames lining the wall, keeping the classic wooden round tables and black chairs. We were told that the first level of the restaurant is catered to regulars and walk-in customers like you and me, and the second level is for tour groups that had already been arranged with the local tour agencies.

Ahh! Let’s start filling the soup with stuff! Somehow, the light soup base looks really healthy with all the cabbage and enoki mushroom, whereas the laksa soup base just screams “Eat Me, Quick!” haha..

Before using Toreta App, San Laksa uses Pen and Paper reservation book to keep track of their patrons’ reservations. Reception staff are normally seated outside of the restaurant, communicating through ear pieces to arrange tables suitable for their never-ending crowd of patrons.

So here is what they did:

Lightly tap the “Reservation Button” upon receiving a reservation phone call.

Select “date” and “time” of reservation and the number of patrons who are visiting your restaurant. (Note that you are only able to proceed if the required boxes are filled). There is a microphone icon at the bottom right corner of the app, that is to record the voice of the staff taking the patrons’ reservation, to prevent miscommunication.

Select the tables that you would like to assign. In this case, the blue highlighted boxes are recommended tables for the patrons, and the grey highlighted boxes are the ones that are either occupied or doesn’t match the number of people reserved.
